In 2007, Kennet District Council diverted 3,316 tonnes of garden waste from landfill, using the material to make compost.

Compostable garden waste makes up approximately 30% of the waste stream, the largest component of residents waste.  It is therefore important to divert as much as possible from landfill.

All garden waste collected from your green wheeled bin will be delivered to a licensed composting facility and turned into high grade compost of PAS100 standard.

Your green wheeled bin will be collected on the same day as your black recycling box every fortnight.  Follow this link for further information on your collection day.

Residents are reminded that the Council will collect garden waste  on the advertised collection day between the hours of 07:00hrs and 22:00hrs. Bins must be placed at the kerbside of the nearest adopted highway.
