Jute recyling bag This year, Kennet District Council worked alongside West Wiltshire District Council to celebrate Recycle Week and running several activities across the district to promote the importance of recycling and waste reduction.


What is Recycle Week?

Recycle Week 2008 is a national campaign co-ordinated by the Waste Resources Action Programme (WRAP) and this year is aiming to inspire people to recycle ‘just one more thing’.

It’s about showing residents that recycling can be easy, it does benefit the environment and everyone’s individual contribution will make a big difference.


Spot the Recycle Swoosh Competition

Five local businesses in Devizes and five in Marlborough displayed a green reusable Recycle for Wiltshire jute bag in their shop windows during Recycle Week.

The same competition was also run in the five main towns in West Wiltshire.

One grand prize will be awarded for all of Wiltshire with a first prize and two runners up in each participating town.

Grand Prize

A VIP family guided tour around the Wadworth Brewery in Devizes, including a visit to the Shire Horses and Sign Writing Studios plus a jute bag filled with Wadworth goodies.
