Compost Bin eco max 330lt

The Council encourages residents to compost their organic waste, either through the green wheeled bin collection service or by composting at home.

Why Compost?

  • Up to 30% of your wheeled bin contents can be composted.

  • Using a compost bin lightens your wheeled bin and can help it stop smelling.

  • Compost improves your soil and makes it healthy.

  • It’s fun, easy and saves you money.

How can I get a Compost Bin?

Kennet District Council works in partnership with WRAP (Waste Action Resources Programme) and the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust to provide subsidised home compost bins to residents.

There are currently three compost bins available:

  • ecoMAX 220ltrs £17.00

  • ecoMAX 330ltrs £20.00

  • KOMP 250ltrs £40.00

This cost includes free delivery.  To order your composter, please follow the link below or call WRAP on Tel: 0845 077 0757 quoting reference HCA2.  Accessories can be ordered in this way also.

Food Waste Digesters – Special Offer available to Kennet residents

The Council, working in partnership and with funding from Wiltshire County Council is offering residents the chance to buy a food waste digester at highly subsidised prices to help dispose of all your food waste.

There are two different types of digester available, the Green Cone and the Green Johanna.

What is a food waste digester?

A new solution to how you can dispose of all your unwanted food waste. A digester is different from a standard home compost bin because it can accept ALL cooked and uncooked food waste for composting.

Green Cone

The Green Cone is usually priced at £69.55 but you can purchase one for only £15.00. If you require a home delivery, please add £5.00

The green cone ensures the total breakdown of all food waste into its natural components of water and carbon dioxide.  There is minimal residue.

Green Johanna

The Johanna is usually priced at £98.99 but you can purchase it for only £20.00. If you require a home delivery, please add £5.00

  • Takes ALL food waste, including meat, fish, bones and dairy products and requires a minimum of 30% garden waste
  • Makes compost
  • Requires occasional stirring (stirrer is provided)
  • Does not attract vermin
  • 5 year product guarantee
  • Entirely safe for you and your pets
  • Requires a shady location in garden

The Green Johanna provides an excellent way of handling both your garden and food waste, producing quality compost for your garden.
