Kennet is an extremely attractive part of Wiltshire, with its market
towns and villages set in and around the Wiltshire Downs and Salisbury Plain. The Council’s planning
team work together and with other partners to encourage the economically sustainable development that
local residents require, whilst protecting and enhancing the natural and historic environment of the
district. The links below explain the work of the different teams and allow you to view Local Plan documents,
comment on planning applications, report breaches of planning control and submit planning applications
online. They also provide access to a wide range of guidance about planning and building control.
This page includes details of the adopted Kennet Local Plan and the Council's Local Development Framework, including the Local Development Scheme and Statement of Community Involvement. It also contains draft policy documents including those subject to consultation.

These pages provide advice on how we deal with planning applications,
appeals and enforcement. Details of all current planning appeals are available. You can report an alleged
breach of planning control online and see copies of all enforcement notices issued since January 2002.
For details of planning applications, please see the Planning Explorer below. We welcome the submission
of planning applications online and work in partnership with the Planning Portal to receive these.
The Government is replacing the planning application forms previously issued by each local authority with a National Standard Planning application forms that can be used in any authority in the country. It will be mandatory to use these forms from April 6th 2008. For further information and to download the various application forms follow here.
You can search here for details of the planning applications received by the Council since May 2004. Application forms and plans can be viewed online for proposals submitted since December 2005. All representations and consultation responses received on planning applications submitted since January 2007 can also be viewed online. Comments on current applications can be submitted online.
