Kennet District Council has relatively limited involvement with animal welfare.

We are however responsible for licensing :

Pet Shops
Animal Boarding establishments
Riding stables
Dog Breeders
Dangerous Wild Animal Act establishments.

If you become aware of cruelty or mistreatment of animals in any of these premises then please contact our Animal Welfare Officer on 01380 724911 or email kennet@kennet.gov.uk

Farm Animals

Kennet has no statutory responsibilities for farm animals and their welfare.
