Your vote counts

Citizens of European Union Member States (apart from Ireland) are entitled to register to vote in the UK. However, they may only vote in Local Government Elections, not Parliamentary Elections. In the year of a European Union Election, they can apply to cast their vote in that election in the UK.

Irish Citizens also have full voting rights at both Local and Parliamentary elections.

Cyprus and Malta are both in the EU and the Commonwealth, and citizens of these countries have full voting rights.

Citizens of Commonwealth Countries and British Dependent Territories are also eligible to register to vote in all elections in the UK.
